Reagan,
That's what I've been thinking for the last couple of weeks and as a result have bought more shares, however it seems that I was a little early. I am beginning to think that it may take years for the issues with Loral to get settled. I don't think that we will ever wake up one morning and find that Loral has been cleared of all charges and have the stock price soar. It does not seem possible to prove the allegations 100% one way or another. IMO its more likely that these charges will drag on and after a period of time no one will care anymore and then the share price will seek its proper level commensurate with future earnings expectations.

Comments anyone?
-Don

No. Loral does not need to be entirely blameless for the stock to soar again. Even if Loral employees did violated regs., or the DoD's interpretation of regs, it is very unlikely to lead to any draconian action. So long at least as there is no evidence of a deep pattern of company practice, or really egregious secret passing.

See the Time mag. article link I posted a few days ago.

The worst reasonably likely case is that future Chinese launches of all US satellites are blocked for a while. I doubt that will occur. Although a hiatus would not surprise me.

I fully expect that the investigations into Loral's culpability will prove to be a big fizzle for the investigators. Increasingly the focus will return to campaign contributions. And there too any B.Schwartz /Loral investigation will fizzle.

The purportedly related Jonny Chung business I have a less clear feel about....and seems somewhat more likely to have legs. But that doesn't involve Loral except as a member of the class of all US satellite companies.
