To ADPT Thread Visitors:

This thread is fairly active. Let me save you the time it would take to read through the messages posted over the last several weeks by summarizing the outlook for ADPT, as indicated by the consensus of ADPT thread participants.

First, let me summarize the current economic background. The SE Asia crisis is looming large. It is definitely impacting the business of all technology companies, especially low-tech companies like ADPT. When the full impact of the Asian crisis is felt by the US companies, only the strongest will survive. Companies with ancient technology will fall by the wayside.

Second, ADPT has disappointed "the street" by missing earnings estimates for two quarters. ADPT management just can't seem to meet the street's expectations, even after ADPT guides those expectations downward.

Third, the ADPT management has the audacity to attempt to purchase other related companies, despite the fact that the purchases may cause ADPT to be viewed as a monopoly. If these acquisitions actually go through, ADPT's outlook will be terrible, with numerous charges for restructuring, R&D in process, good will, etc. On the other hand, if these acquisitions do not go through, ADPT's outdated technology will not be enough to survive on.

Fourth, there is absolutely no reason to purchase ADPT at the current price, even after a decline of 73% from its 52-week high. The price will certainly drop another 30%, if not more.

In summary, according to the consensus of the thread, this company is a total loser with an outdated technology in a rapidly shrinking market.

Best wishes,

I2
