Hello Frank. Yes, Intel is looking shaky at this point. Here is the newest article on that FTC story.

biz.yahoo.com

And someone just mentioned on CNBC that Intel will be warning about their upcoming quarter and that the stock could go down some more. Let's hope not.

I agree with you. Intel PR was not very forthcoming. I still remember when old timers sold a lot of shares in the company. I am sure they had an idea why they did it.

This Merced delay is supposed to be no problem for Intel. Well, maybe not. But the stock, and some of my other stocks that are involved with that Merced chip, have suffered.

Let's hope that this FTC thing has no legs and Intel will once again make its shareholders money.

Sonny

Frank, I have to agree with you. buy and hold works most of the time.
90% of my portfolio is buy/hold. I trade w. 5-10% and mostly I am
chatting only about 5-10%.

Like you said if there is a shift in the company management and
if you realize that the reason you first invested is gone then one
must re-consider this. I have a great deal of respect for your
judgement as you must already know that because of fine bunch of
companies you hold.

DUMP at first sign you see roches. No emotions . Do not dump when it's low.

I dumped HWP in May of 96 and it was easy to do some how I could not
do that to Intel but I have reduced my positions quite a lot since
last year when it first hit 99.5 and it then went on to 102.

BALANCING act:
Intel is no longer a significant portion. CSCO, DELL, MSFT are.
Because they have outpaced the market and I only have the very
low cost basis on all of these. I will not let any one company grow
more then 10%. Most of them are less then 4% of my portfolio.

DON'T BLAME INTEL:

Also intel is in a bad sector and that is not the management's fault.
Though I see lot of manipulations by management and intel seems to
not give a .... to small investors.

Don't blame TK:
Intel mngmt sold at the very top. Manipulated the stock to go up
just to dump their shares by giving guidence to analyst who could only
upgrade/down grade based on what Intel tells them.
I have solid proofs of events of such days what was said and what happened.
pgrade/down grade based on what Intel tells them.
I have solid proofs of events of such days what was said and what happened.
This down fall in intel by TK is all manipulations by intel to buy
back their shares. We will soon get an upgrade in 6 months saying Intel is
ahead of schedule at which time insiders will sell again.

This is why buy and hold is good so we don't get manipulated.
Focus on your own goals and ignore rest of this world.

DO Blame US :

since we soley are responsible for our losses..
We seem to live in this world of intel lovers and did not open our eyes
soon enough.

I intend to hold my current positions (small basis) in INtel and probalby will

not sell at $400 or buy at $60. period. (ofcourse, i can change my mind tomorrow.
