Also: Should we be worried about this teamup of LU and MOT?

"..... which when combined will make this design center a powerhouse for developing DSP technology, said Hector Ruiz, president of Motorola's semiconductor group."

It does make a very positive statement about the potential of the DSP market . Unfortunately it also looks like TI will have an extremely formidable competitor or competitors, or will they?
Does 2 + 2 = 5 here.
Could really use some input from someone who has a handle on the players and can assess what really will come out of this team .

Was this news generating some of the weakness today in TI?
Does appear so.

I guess it is conceivable that MOT and LU have been working together
all along and this is just formalizing their activities so could be considered a non event.
I don't know this to be the case, so i do hope someone will put
me straight. It is really just wishful thinking on my part. :-}

Texas Instruments is always watching and worrying about the competition. That's why they are a world class company.
