Yes, but that's for content providers.

Plus, Gate's insatiable appatite for control. the 'Crush them' attitude as has been reported by internal documents, and people's experience in working for MS. I hope you won't challenge this just for the sake of argument.

I don't think Gates does anything just for control. There has to be money behind it, and a lot of it. Maybe Dragonfly will say differently, since he worked there.

you answered your own argument. To clarify it for you: Gates WILL become a content provider to get those dineros. The rest is self explanatory (unless you want me to clarify)

Yes, all other CEOs except microsoft's. I'm not aware of any that either internally or as indicated by their business practices do that. Some other companies have excellent products that just become the defact standard becuase they're good. MS on otoh, leverages its monopoly in avery way.

There has to be money behind it, and a lot of it.

There is, it goes directly to the ability to sell windows. Http served content is a valuable use for a PC. Gaining control of the browser and then discontinuing it for other platforms will remove value from the competition.

And, again, of course Gates wants to crush competition. Do you know the CEOs of any companies who don't want to crush their competition?

Most CEOs follow the law, however. Additionaly, when they find they are in violation of the law, they correct it. MS has refused to do this.
