This is possible.

Intel's i960 Risc Processor line is a direct descendant of the iAPX432, with various feature sets depending upon the i960 variant.

Although marketed as an "embedded processor", some members of that family were full blown risc processors with powerful capabilities, OS and compiler support (NOT DOS or Windows), etc.

Intel has, for whatever reasons, kept the 960 chips one or two or three technology generations behind the leading edge x86 chips.
