Agree that the deaths surrounding Viagra is all hype. 80% percent of males receiving Viagra are over age 50. I am amazed at how many patients over age 70 come in asking for a prescription. Now with such a large number of elderly male patients on Viagra it does not seem unusual that a few die. What a way to go. As far as prescription numbers, I believe it may be misleading. I have been prescribing 6 to 10 for initial prescriptions and 30 for refills. I had not received any Viagra samples so I wrote a small amount as a trial. Finally, I now have samples after calling the PFE drug rep, which is the first time I have EVER done that. Funny, they come in samples of 6. He told me to lock them up because they had been disappearing from physician's offices. JMHO John

Solid, your stats on penicillin must be quite old. Nobody uses penicillin anymore around the state I've seen, for years now; exactly because of possible deaths and also because everything is resistant to it. Haven't seen or heard of a death in 20 years ( and I go to many hospitals. Death from penicillin allergy was accepted 30 years ago when the other option is death from pneumonia. Erectile dysfunction does not warrant death as a side effect. An attorney will even prove that to you in court, TA

Solid, MISLEADING INFO ON 3000 PENNICILLIN DEATHS A YEAR; I am slowly trying to correct a lot of the misinformation that has been floated around on ED and it's therapies, by everybody.It will take time but I have always been a sucker for patient education. ( In this case that would also be investor education,gg,) so here it is: -Deaths/year in the USA from pennicillin are ~ 400 - 800. ( Reference: Kaliner M: Anaphylaxis. NER Allergy Proc: 1984; 5: 324). Of course comparing pennicillin to Viagra is like comparing bananas to grapes.They are totally different ball games. Think, Solid, you are in front of the judge and jury, and you NEED to CONVINCE them that it was OK for previously happy Grandpa, or Dad to die while having sex from Viagra.What's a GOOD excuse?
