Bernie are you there? Is it night in KL?

For those of you who might have a problem accessing foreign markets I suggest our very own SI thread on trading foreign stocks.

Bosco and Thread:

Just CANNOT let this one pass! Excerpts from your linked post that are WAYYYYYY out of line with reality.

<<

TOKYO, June 4 (Reuters) - Asians angry at foreign control of their economies following the current regional
financial crisis could retaliate against foreign capitalists, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said on
Thursday.>>

No kidding? We westerners were not supposed to be able to read financials???

<<....''guerilla war'' waged by Asians wanting
economic autonomy.>>

guerilla war with piss-ant countries like Malaysia????? sure!

<<practically all owned and managed by non-Asians, while >>

No racism here!

>>>>>> they could not defeat, Mahathir said.>>

Time for a reality check Dr. M.

<<" who will lord it over them once again,'' he>>

While appearing nationalistic this is nothing more than 'protect the Bumis'

<<foreign capitalists, whose media control could silence all opposition and who had trillions of dollars at their
disposal.>>

This is the supremeooooooo joke of all. This is the %^*&^% that chases reporters out of the country, holds broadcast rights over CNN's head every time they say something bad about Malaysia, CONTROLS his own press and accepts no opposition to his rantings.

<<Asian countries on their own would not be able to stop capitalists trying to dominate the world and to make
lots of money in the process, he said.>>

This is the same ^*&%* that just slammed capitalism as old and out of date along with Communism, Socialism etc. Some one should ask him how HIS children got so rich! Think Suharto was alone in the region with a system of nepotism??????

<<Mahathir had previously said Southeast Asian nations were considering forming a trade-weighted basket of
currencies to reduce their reliance on major currencies such as the dollar.>>

They have not currencies of value to anyone. Malaysia just traded cattle feed with China for palm oil.

Sorry for the rant folks but this one is a little tooooooo much.

Bt
