Al, the 12.5 MM number includes orders not discussed in the conference call...plus, I believe it was wise to let the initial sting of the earnings disappointment wane before dropping the good news bomb. It would have been wasted three weeks ago.

Al,

PR varies from company to company, and announcement to announcement. For obvious reasons you would like to get news out when it is fresh. However, sometimes for not so obvious reasons a company may choose to hold a release (market conditions, recent bad news, etc.).

In the case of Tava, it looks like they may have started to make a concerted effort toward boosting their image. From what I have seen they have never before made two consecutive announcements. This form of releasing can add even more credibility to the news, as long as it is not overdone. It may have also been done to boost the response of the upcoming road-show.

Anyway, there is no set period for getting a Press Release out. I've had a newsworthy item in the past and been able to get it out in a day, and others had to sit on the shelf for weeks/months while waiting for approval from all involved.

Al,

The PR was about orders for MAY. It came out June 3rd. That's a three day period.

Al,

I seldom post to this thread, but I speak for an institutional level of share ownership. My view of today's press release differs somewhat from yours. I believe that today's news was released as a gesture of recognition for those of us who are truly "long" investors in TAVA as opposed to short term traders. While the news itself may not be current, the timing of the press release is very significant to me. Coming only one day after yesterday's meaty news, it serves notice to short term traders that the "sell on the news/buy cheaper next week/sell on the next news" cycle may become more difficult. I have a lot of respect for the short term traders (there have been some good ones who were regular posters on this thread), but the pattern of TAVA had become too predictable. The price pops on news, traders sell their shares, then wait for the inevitable fall to provide another purchasing opportunity before the next news event.
As a long term investor of size, I can live with that so long as my long term appreciation continues to improve. But when short term trading may be interfering with stability and longer term growth, then a healthy dose of unpredictable PR is a good countermeasure. Relatively speaking, today's news was barely a blip on the screen. But suppose the news had related to an expanded role with KO or GM? Anyone who sold yesterday would be kicking themselves today. My great hope is that one day soon we shall see just such a "double whammy" chain of press releases.

I applaud both TAVA and Pacific Consulting for today's news.

Best Regards,
Hardrocker
