Hopefully we weren't implying that SONET was switching calls. However, have you seen the new SONET ring products that include ATM switching? It's a converging world. Also, I'm not a SONET expert, but IP over SONET work seems to be driving at cutting out the ATM backbone (not to a great extent, but carriers want to exploit every aspect of their embedded infrastructure).... Yadda yadda yadda... Ohh... I don't think that Merrill Lynch was one of the analysts covering. These guys draw the HERD!!!! BahhhhBahhhh
