motherboard/9 PCI slots #reply-3432224. and graphics attached to MB

I took the cover off my friends NEC P133 computer and it has a total
of 3 PCI slots with none being used. I couldn't find the graphics card or sound card. Does that mean they are built into the MB?

If built into the MB, I guess there is no way for my friend
to use Win '98 for multimonitors since it requires that all
graphics cards be PCI. Or is there a way?

S.W.

Many PCI Slots

Most multiprocessor mobos are 12 slot with a 9 PCI and 3 ISA the normal split. Don't know whether all can be used if only one CPU populated.

I have been disappointed with the quality and reliability
of reviews in PC Magazine lately. Of course, I also
dropped my Byte subscription, and I caught Boot in too
many errors to put up with them either (and I even saw
them stonewall it when readers wrote in to challange).

In short, when it comes to trade mags, I guess
I don't like anybody very much <GGG>.

So take my comments with a grain of salt. But I'd rather
listen to Dave and Zeuspaul and Networm myself. These
folks know where it's at.

(BTW, if you listen to me, be advised that all my stuff
with the exception of a couple of hard drives is at least
a year and a half old, so WDIK? In short, do so at your
peril. I merely talk it up a lot <G>.)
