The schedule of use of Rdram by Intel is really dependent on the chipset rather than the processor. As I understand it, Katmai will use a standard slot 1 100 Mhz front side bus. This means it should be able to plug into an existing 440BX chipset (which doesn't use rdram.)

Camino is the next slot 1 chipset and is supposed to support rdram. So the question is whether its schedule is also being moved forward.

Doug,

It would be nice if the price would ramp up to it's first split this year. I know Rambus is no KTEL.<g> But, it would be nice for those who have had interest since last year. Lets make a little run to $60 then $80 and split in late Nov. After all, one big difference this year is all the major licensees are all on board and now product will be hitting the streets. Visibility has to be improving.
