I agree with Bill's viewpoint. Can anyone point out why this is not possible ? At the rate at which deals are being done and contracts being bid, LU cannot afford to wait 4 months IMO. -hitesh

An announcement of intent* to acquire could still be made as early as late June.* That would ruin the summer for LU shareholders. No deal is announced before it's time, unless the lawyers and bankers slip, and those types of lawyers and bankers don't usually do lucrative deals like ASND/LU would be. Maybe we should rename the stock WallFLoweR... ADCT and AFCI have a better chance than ASND right now. Even COMS, unless there is a poison pill...note in Business Section of SF Comical today: "Sources close to 3Com ridicule the notion that the company's decision to hire a second in command signals any loss of faith in Eric Benhamou, the company's Chairman, President, and CEO... ...Benhamou recently got the supreme compliment from Cisco CEO John Chambers, who told reporters that when headhunters phone him, "I send them over to Eric. I want somebody to hire that guy out of my industry." Key words, "...my industry."
