I saw head of EU antitrust on financial TV tonight. It was clear that he was preserving the right/PR space to continue to object to the merger despite the MCI planned divestiture of their internet backbone. Partly for his EU organization and partly on behalf of his newly renewed partnership with the US DoJ antitrust boys. Nothing more was apparent. I.e, they are still trying to figure it all out, and are listening to the (naysaying) competition, led by GTE. As they always do. Doug
