Dave......thanks for the info.....as to A/D, in looking at the posts here, I guess that I'm in between 1) the people who are only interested in "what works", ie.... give them the formula, let them plug it in, and let them trade......and 2), the people who care about why a formula or a concept might work. My take on TA is that: 1. There is NO magic 2. There are enough people with more money than I have following TA and acting on it (I could give you validated "chapter and verse" on the size and effect of that money, and have on the Boards in the past) that if I don't, I'm not reading the Market as well as I could 3. I want to be like the little fish that swims behind the big shark and picks up the food that gets past him. I do this by trying to find those indicators that big money acts on, and get on board for the ride 4. I am a formula junkie, so I'm in the right arena I don't fully understand the intricacies of A/D, but in trying to decipher the TSV formula in TC2000 (which they do not give out as being proprietary), I came across the following that was close enough to it (the graphs looked almost the same) and seems to work for me as a good indicator. In MSWIN, Formula "TSV" = 50-(100/(1+(PDI(8)/MDI(8)))), where PDI(8) & MDI(8) are MSWIN's coding for Positive Directional Movement and Negative Directional Movement, DI+ and DI- in many other programs, using an 8 period parameter. These are part of the ADX formulization as you know. I don't really know what the thinking or formulization is for DI+ and DI-, or even ADX for that matter, but THE TA WORLD IS LOOKING AT THEM, so so am I! FWIW BW Chan
