I could see ORCL buying VNTV - Larry hates Tom, John hates Tom,(enemy of my enemy is my friend). ORCL having trouble with apps - buys out VNTV as pre-emptive strike to prevent PSFT or SAP from picking up VNTV. I can't imagine SAP actually buying VNTV. Their track record suggests that they will make an investment in an underlying, enabling technology and do all the higher level development in-house. That's what they're doing in SCM with their equity investment in ILOGY. SAP has the most acute case of 'Not Invented Here' syndrome that I've ever seen!! <g> RA
