COMS THREAD - financial clues

Looks like COMS is cleaning out some more
inventories. The following is the
latest report on

Dell'Oro Group 1Q98 Router & Remote Access Report; Multi-Service Voice

***Caveat***: They most probably did not account for cleaning out
the inventories, so COMS numbers may be underestimated.

We need some Ascend folks to come over and tell us why
the Remote Access area is so screwed-up (COMS couldn't
possibly be leading in this area<g>

>>Yes I bought more than one contract, but what does that have to do with anything? Does the amount of the bet you place have anything to do with your success in predicting the outcome?<<

Your right, the amount of the bet has nothing to do with predicting
outcome. I was just asking to see your conviction level and
to see how 'honest' you were. Buying 1 share would be the extreme
case of BSing.

I know that it's a good rule not to talk specificly
about $$ and share amounts that we all invest, so I
respect your space.

I was just trying to draw out some extra info on your
conviction level, and obviously, you didn't fall for the bait.

I'll save you the time...
No need to answer this post with a "my conviction
level is 100% bearish against COMS"
answer. I just
did it for you<g>.

>>I already know it's going to be bad. Everyone knows that. I like the risk reward with those puts. Maybe they will quadruple if all hell breaks loose. If it doesn't look like the puts are going to do much I can buy COMS at anytime in the next 43 days and I have an
insurance policy that limits my losses below 25.<<

Now, I wonder if buying COMS "in the next 43 days" means more
like "buying before the earnings report". I suspect
a tinge of Bullishness. Minimize possible loss, and leave
yourself open for the possibility of a nice upward pop.
Pretty crafty there CRAWFORD <g>.
