You must be referring to TechniFilter which is primarily a scan and filter program. It can read data from a number of formats without conversion, among them AIQ and MetaStock.

If you use TechniFilter, you just enter in the data folder c:\wintes32\tdata as your ticker data source. If you're using MetaStock, you will increase your downloading effort since AIQ uses different data vendor unless you select Dial Data or Telescan (both of poor data quality) for both. If you have a large database, over 1500-2000 stocks, scanning in TechniFilter and generating reports in AIQ will take quite a while. Plus in AIQ, you start getting spurious warnings about zero volume data for low volume stocks. I use MetaStock since I use it with IRL an industry group analysis program.

Another alternative is to use Telescan ProSearch or WallStreetCity web site to conduct stock searches. Other web sites, such as Zack's, DailyStocks, MarketGuide, etc. have search capabilities: some of them free for the limited version. You can get a 30-day free trial to WallStreetCity to examine their search facilities in detail.

Re: Market

The trading range of 8800 and 9000 still seems in effect.

Hi Don- Do you mean TechniFilter Plus? Both Les & I have TF+. If you do mean TechniTrader, I'm afraid I'm not familiar with it. I think I mentioned TF+ in the post to you a couple days ago. Definitely fast and has some clever features. Of course you won't find the proprietary AIQ signals like the AIQ market signals or the AIQ bands. Clay Burch, the pres./owner/tech whiz kid of RTR Software, provides the best tech support in the business. Be forewarned that the TF+ language used to write custom indicators is very compact and not even close to English language. Takes a few days of adjustment.
