You and the naysayers..Thought for the day: The great souls that have walked the earth, have always practiced kindness, love, and compassion. They have as their model the following attributes: To ask oneself before speaking: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Never hurt or blame others, or to find fault, but instead speak words of kindness, love, and compassion for all life. In the human state of consciousness it is difficult for humanity to love all life, but each test that comes is an opportunity to practice the ways of the great souls. So we begin with ourselves and our family, then we take the bold steps of expanding our consciousness to include others. In the forefront of this is; never to interfere in the state of consciousness of another, for high on the agenda is to give freedom to others. For in doing so, we free our self. This is a law of life, the law of cause and effect. What you do to others you do to yourself. As a part of survival then, it is always best to give, love, compassion, and goodwill to all.

Another thing to consider about Y2K is that there are different approaches that can be taken. You don't always need specialized experts, e.g., Cobol knowledge. I'm working on Y2K right now for a large semiconductor company and their solution is to revamp and consolidate their marketing, manufacturing, and distribution systems. In other words, throw out the old and replace with newer and better. It's working, too, they'll have enough of the system up and running this summer to begin long-range planning activities. The programmers involved just need knowledge of Oracle DBs and C++.
