Henry, I have to agree this is very big news. My guess is that LGND and SBH research in the area is close to one year, if not more, ahead of what the article will report on. We know that LGND has been filing plenty of patents during this period. If they issue in as broad a form as some of us feel could be the case, we just might have a blocksmasher situation on our hands. Time will tell.

Regards,

Walter

<<The information that I could gather from someone familiar with the presentation was that the mimic was about 500 daltons>

The three major classes of interferons(alfa, beta, gamma)that I am aware of have molecular weights ranging from 15,000 to 21,000 daltons. They each of course have overlapping, yet distinct biological activities. What activity are they looking for with one of 500 dalton weight??

Thanks,
Greg

<I expect the news to be quite spectacular, and I expect LGND to remain relatively quiet about a human version of the small molecule. >

Henry, if the news is so spectacular, why would Lgnd remain quite about it? Sounds like this could be something to move the stock price upward.
