Re: the ambiguity of "signing up"

The main missing component was the price. I was congratulated for making the step forward of signing up for the service, but wasn't given any details regarding pricing, billing, service areas, etc. On the contrary, I was asked what price I was willing to pay, whether I used a cell phone, what my main attraction to the service was.

So I really think that by "signing up", all I really did was register myself as a prospective customer. They said that they will call me to discuss the service further.

I'm guessing that the final street price of the service may not be set in stone yet, but that they're anxious to get some marketing activities going. I think this actually a pretty good idea, but they probably should have made it clearer what "signing up" actually meant.
