(1) The key here is their cost of production.
(2) Are they at .35u, 25u or .21u ???
(3) Higher cost producers will be first to curtail production.
(4) If SUPPLY is 110% of DEMAND sooner or later weaker
players begin to fold...common sense

....This is what cycles are all about.....

dj, not gonna happen. if it does, not for very long. everyone appears to be sitting on tons of inventory. samsung would have to shut down for quite some time.

>>The company said more than 25 percent of its world memory
chip supply would be reduced as a result of the suspension.<<

oh, please. for 1 month. it isn't like samsung isn't sitting on tons of inventory to more than make up for a week of plant closings.

>>"This is expected to have a strong psychological effect on the
market and help to turn prices around," it said.<<

this is the crux of the matter. they are talking up a good game. psychological is the key word. samsung won't roll over and die while mu sells their 78 tons of inventory for nice profits. not again.

they may try for a short period of time and they will be sorely disappointed.
