Added a new short this week, TRF-Templeton Russia. A closed end which is at a 45% premium. Read some interesting articles lately, believe one was in the most recent Forbes on how the Russian market and the ruble is being held up by the large influx of foreign capital and foreign aid. They say the worst is yet to come. The fund tends to trade at a premium, but that will end now that the 50%+ gains are turning into 50% losses.
Also short CTXS, CFON, and TAVA. Closed out DDIM and ACLY this week with a gain. Lost all my gain on CIEN with the buyout from Tellabs and covered half my CTXS as I'm in the red already and it isn't showing any weakness. Thanks to Roger for the VIAS idea, I caught that one just right. Made up for the loss I took on ZITL a year ago. Sort of feel even against the Y2K bubble stocks now.
Dale- Been trying for a year to get my account up to the size to write some puts. Just a little guy who can't seem to get in on that income stream. I'd love to write some LEAPS on Philip Morris and Boeing right now. Can't seem to understand why writing a put is considered so dangerous. Worse case I've got to buy a set number of shares of Boeing. Nobody seems to care I've got the money to cover, just that my net worth doesn't allow level D option trading. ANDREW
