Kemble, is this the reason Dell is weak/down this morning? Compaq cuts prices on some workstations HOUSTON, June 8 (Reuters) - Compaq Computer Corp. said Monday it had cut prices on its Professional Workstation products by as much as 28 percent. The price reductions include up to 28 percent on the Professional Workstation 5100, 20 percent on the Professional Workstation 6000, and 27 percent on dual-processing upgrade options, Compaq said. Compaq customers can purchase systems with its Highly Parallel System Architecture starting at prices of $2,189, and customers can upgrade workstations to contain dual processors starting at $795.
