Alan,

And are you not dogmatic in condemning that same woman? Is her life and personal freedom so insignificant in comparison to the newly formed fetus?

There is a distinction between the biological matter formed immediately following conception & the fetus at 7 or 8 mos of development.

Ann

To All

I have a question that I have not been able to come up with a satisfactory answer for. Any help would be appreciated. (I have asked this before)

Why would God ever decide to take a punitive action? God can theoretically achieve anything he desires. The ultimate outcome is never really in question. Given that, why would he ever choose to react punitively instead of in a rehabilitative sense? Why would God ever condemn a soul to eternal damnation, when he could just as easily rehabilitate that soul?

Take a worst case example. Anyone you can think of. Hitler, Gacy, Dahmer, etc. What is a greater testimony to Gods work, eternal punishment, or to create a loving functional soul out of a twisted, sick one?

Look at the other end of the spectrum. Human beings such as Mother Thereasa, Martin Luther King, and Ghandi, have created tremendous works and great deeds, by staring evil in the face and returning a loving, pacifistic cheek. Can God do any less than these people? I think not.

In any circumstance, with any soul, it is my opinion that it is decidedly "less godly" to punish through pain and anguish than it is to teach and rehabilitate through love. What do you think?

Mark
