A recent example, as I recall, is Franklin Resources (Ticker BEN). I forget the exact date but I am sure you can find the news under it and check the chart. I remember it was up a lot that day.

Although I have no details I know that SCH (Schwab) was added to the S&P 500 last year & it did go up about $3 the day after it was announced.

I had Countrywide Credit (CCR). It was about 25 or so when it got added. Now doubled, about a year later. Also have this one - tomorrow should be interesting, to say the least.
