Skeeter, you are wise not to short. MU is in pretty deep kimchi, no doubt. And they probably will not be able to migrate to 64Mbit DRAM by the end of this summer, a major bummer for them. AS for TI, if there is a deal it will be lock stock and barrel. That is how TI operates. I live close to where a TI plant was located for 20 years in Lewisville, TX. Last year, an announcement was made that Raytheon was taking over certain parts of TI's business. Later that week, the sign in fron of the complex had changed to Raytheon. Nothing else changed. I am not saying that MU will shoot back up to 94 this week. But it has ended it's death spiral. Long term valuations can be attached to this going concern (if the deal goes thru and or the 64mb setup goes well).

skeeter or mike (or anyone for that matter)--

this friend of my partner says his broker told him to buy MUEI. i dont really feel like looking it up, so if you know the answers off hand, please let me know.

how much of MUEI is MU still holding?

how much do you think MU is going to liquidate this year to meet debt obligations? might they sell off their position entirely to buy TXNs DRAM ops?

i told him not to buy MUEI. why? because i am afraid of MU using its holdings as a bank and selling them off, creating a supply imbalance.

oh yeah, any other reasons you can think of for not buying MUEI would be helpful<G>.

on a lighter note, loved the increase in price today. didnt 16Mb pricing in japan hit 1.40 at some point last week? sounds like a bullish indicator to me!!!<G>.

skeeter-- loved the ZE reference. are they even planning to reorganize? might be a fun vulture investment.

good luck to all,
trey
