In 1988 Ronald Reagan went to Tokyo and received $6 million from the grateful Japanese people for his part in "opening" the US to Japanese trade. This trade, IMHO, just about broke the back of the US. Ah, beggar thy neighbor through trade. The Japanese motto. I don't suppose we can fight back can we Lawrence?? Or, should we just leave that to the Chinese who have had their own particular moments with the Japanese.
