I wouldn't worry about everything being funny or lighthearted. Even Yeshua wept once and a while. A very thoughtful post. Thanks.

Roebear! What exhilerating commentary. Truly the Lord has given man brains because it pleased Him to do so.

Anyway, this is my first day here since I last mentioned to Mike that at least this was a place I could talk to him--jesting that he was probably the only person that would show up.

I must get Gregor over here. He was trying to discuss this very complex matter of God and Profit mixing. I was in my listening to the dying bird population mode at that moment and couldn't get past how many more seasons before I heard nothing out there but crows. Now I am determined to get Gregor over here, even though I'm sure he is already strung out to the maximum on time.

Christians with money is inevitable. The Bible is almost 1/6 blessings that follow right living. So, I guess the secret is how not to trash your life after God makes it easy and pleasant for you. The other l/4 of the Bible warns about how easy it is to trash your life when it is too blessed.

:)

That's what I worry about, is wealth accumulating above what is needed giving people enough free time and reasons to spend it that it takes them away from God. But that is lack of faith on my part, and probably because I ended up backsliding only when I had enough money to go out to lunch everyday with worldly people and get worldly ideas in my head and then enough money to begin to join them every night after work.

BAD IDEA! So, of course I worry, but then I also know that a broke and begging Christian is equally insane. THAT is also practically impossible, except in a period of Job testing.

I am going to ask Gregor to specifically respond and see what else that brings up.

Thank you for tumbling down this little Rabbit Hole of a thread, Roebear. I am going to re-read your post with more attention to detail, and will probably want to say much more, I'm sure.

Dear Roebear :

I read your post about trading stocks, perspectives on wealth, money, materialism etc. I thank you in your support of Jane, whom I dearly love in Christ. She is of a very select few that I trust to pray over my personal requests to God.

You talk about the "nooks" of SI that we inhabit. ( meaning Christians ). Any verily, verily we are few.

What I was drawn to your post about was the depth of the thinking. You see, that is the battle ground, we know that. I have no confidence in my own intellect, nor should you, but as the Holy spirit leads and endows us with wisdom, we are of use to The Lord.

I pray your position on these threads be of wisdom and of great , high calling. That along with a holy anointing ( all anointing is for ministry )will ensure that the hand of God remain on you for all eternity.

We must and should and will unify ourselves for the royal affairs of the most high God. Never underestimate what a significant stronghold (why is it the devil always has strongholds--what about OUR strongholds ) WE HAVE. Praise God, give me a few more paragraphs and I'll have church all by myself. In Christ..gregor
