gregor,
Thanks for a post that brought a smile to my face. Strongholds indeed! I would be glad to attend your "church".
In the battle for our hearts and minds, I am thankful that God has cared enough for us to go to the great lengths He did, sacrificing His Son. We endeavor to keep the high ground by maintaining His Word in our minds. But, as for me, my mind certainly does not qualify as a stronghold; to use a phrase from old battlefields, "the issue is in doubt" at times <VBG>!
But on second thought, a stronghold is a defensive position.....you may have brought up a significant avenue for a study in the Word. In warfare a loser is always a defender first. Fixed fortifications can always be successfully assaulted or otherwise negated given enough time by the attacker. So perhaps there is a reason for satan to have strongholds....he is a defender and a loser!
While the armour of the Christian is mobile and therefore offensive (albeit in a peaceable fashion as we struggle not with flesh and blood but powers and principalities (strongholds)) as in the helmet of salvation the sword of the Spirit.
No doubt someone has already mined some of this treasure in the Word, if anyone knows a good study on this aspect of this subject it would be interesting.
Didn't David refer to God as a mighty Fortress? (With the insurmountable advantage of being an omnipresent one!)
We must look to Him for our wisdom and strength as you have said, gregor. If we are deep, it is because the eternity of our God is deep, infinitely deep. Wisdom beyond the wise is ours from the Spirit if we are humble enough to receive it. But, I never knew how proud I was till I figured out how stupid I was!

Nontheless, we occupy our nook, or niches, with a kind of honor, gregor, for we sanctify them with the presence of our Father...
Thanks for being a brother in Christ

God Bless,

Roebear
