Duncan, did you happen to see the Frontline piece that was done on the tobacco industry a few weeks back? One of the smaller points made was that Clinton only decided to take on tobacco after a poll that was commissioned indicated that the "majority" would be for punishing tobacco when done in context of helpingthe children. It was only after he saw the poll numbers that he took his current stance. It is absolutely amazing to listen to him, Gore, and other dems when questioned on tobacco, they almost without exception use "children" in their responses. At least they're consistant, until of course, the poll numbers change......
