Any other interesting problems, you may know. I teach programing courses occasionally, and as a logic warm up while we wait for straglers to come in I try different logic problems.

Sorry I'm new to this thread, Dutch your 12 coin question was going to be my next one.

To restate the problem:

12 coins now. The counterfeit is either heavier or lighter. Same balance scale. But now you have 3 moves. Find the Counterfeit.

I won't post the solution in fairness to all the others unless asked. For all those frustrated IT CAN BE DONE !!!!.

I'am curious to know. What is the fastest that you know of solving this problem.
