Well he certainly is starting to read from the same page.

Who will blink first ?

The beleaguered Korean DRAMers are doing their best to survive through modest short-term factory shutdowns, with grudging cooperation from the Unionists, and their new Prez trying on US-made kneepads, and the IMF telling 'em how to survive, and slipping them fistfulls of non-depreciating credit.

The beleaguered Japanese DRAMers are relying on their labyrinthine Keritsu support structures underwritten by their non-transparent banking system. And possibly benefiting from a depreciating yen.

The struggling undercapitalized and lagging in technology American firm, Micron ?

Or the upstart Taiwanese memory fabbers ?

It was a lot easier in the old days, when Intel shutdown its Aloha, Oregon fab to bow out of the DRAM biz. Not much international politics, except for the staunchly "us against them" paranoid fear of the Japanese fabrication capability. But then Grove was a master of using paranoia to produce.

Well, I invited the guest in question to consider this thread:

Perhaps he can elaborate.
