aki,

You are correct in that we have seen things differently over the past few months.

Re: as for the fascination with comparing the sem-equips to the internet stocks... why don't we just stop... it serves no purpose... those co's have explosive revenue growth,

Using FY98 as a base and sometime early next century as a peak, AMAT should see explosive top and bottom line growth. I am looking for $5+ around the 2002 timeframe, using historical growth #s and temepring them to account for a slower rate of increase in spending.

Re:I am a buyer of amazon on any weakness... it is the dell of the book-world...

Again, I could not disagree more. Have you bought books off of either of their sites? I have been shopping AMZN until BKS put up their site. They have a # of features AMZN does not have:(1) they ship most books within 24 hours. Because AMZN is not a true retailer, they must order each book since they do not have it one hand. Translation: a waiting period with AMZN. (2)Price discounts are matched by BKS. (3)BKS has some very nice features including allowing one to read the first chapter on a potential order. Again, AMZN does not offer this.

It is highly debatable whether AMZN will ever make any $$. They are the AMD and BKS is the INTC, with capital to put up a good fight and possibly quash any competition. Compare the charts on INTC and AMD. IMO, 10 years from now a similar divergence will occur between these 2. The battle does not necessarily go to the strong nor the race to the swift, but that is the way to bet.

BK

Aki, I thought you said that very well and it made perfect sense to me. And there really is no comparison between the semi-equips and the internet stocks...why do we talk about this -g-.
