I can only guess, but it appears the whole organization sees the customer as just dumb sheep coming to them to be sheared of their money and confusing this goal with properly presenting orders to the market in a timely professional manner would be counterproductive.

If you go back about two years in the posts you'll see Datek discussing when they'll offer AON. Well where's the beef, sure ain't at Datek! But then there's many spinoff extra commissions from customers that cancel after getting a partial fill of 30 or 40 shares.

Why would they take an order first in line on ISLD, partial fill it for 30 shares THEN place it at the end of the ISLD que for that price and give the next guy a partial for 50 shares etc etc. Interesting approach for generating extra commissions. They know many stocks don't allow a daytrader to wait until tomorrow or the next day for a fill.
