MONTEREY, Calif., June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Intelliguard Software, Inc., the leader in standards-based network-attached storage management solutions, is demonstrating a new technology solution for performing live backups on Fibre Channel-attached storage devices. This Celestra software demonstration running in a Hewlett-Packard computing environment is taking place today during the StorageTrack Conference sponsored by Dataquest, June 10-11. According to Paul J.J. Payack, senior vice president strategic marketing, "With Intelliguard's software and H-P's enterprise computing equipment, the two companies will demonstrate the ability to move data directly from disks to tape bypassing the server. By not having the server in the data path, users gain server resources such as CPU cycles, memory and I/O bandwidth. This process eliminates the need for a backup window." In this demonstration, Intelliguard's BudTool software manages the movement of data from H-P's Storage Systems, connected to an H-P 9000 D-Class server, through a H-P Fibre Channel to SCSI Multiplexer, backing up to DLT tape. About Intelliguard Software Intelliguard Software, Inc. is the leading provider of standards-based UNIX and Windows NT enterprise-class storage management solutions that protect corporate data assets and ensure business continuity.
