You use the term sources....I can tell you telechoice has had a very questionable record on their info and timing of major events. They were a large part of the reason inst. where suckered into ADSL stocks so early giving misinfo from chip readiness to contract award scopes. I can also tell you WSTL has read what you quoted from telechoice and they did contact D.B. and tell him he was very misinformed. It's their choice to print what wstl has told them, but it might make them look non-informed again....As far as the RFP...BEL RFP for initial deployment was submitted in the begining of 1997 and here we are in mid-98 and deployment in fall. RFP now for DMT-phase is right in line for early 2000 deployment. WSTL/DSC-DMT will happen for BEL. It would be very stupid for ALA to upset a winning team and possibly not even benefit from the DSC participation.

Bill or any others?

I am interested in kind of mapping out the different carrier backbone networks which comprise the telecom and data networks used by the phone companies for provision of services (e.g. BA's network, Qwest's fiber network, Sprint's ION etc.). I just want a basic idea of what everyone has (ie. 2000 SONET rings connected to 500 ATM switches, connected to 400 data switches). I realize this may be insane to try because of the evolving landscapes and the privacy issues, but perhaps someone already has something done (ie. a magic URL?).
:-) It would be great to get a bird's eye view of everyone's basic structures and where they are going. Any ideas or thoughts?

Thanks
