Greetings all: My take on Manny's interview. Please excuse the formatting. Today, this thing seems to have a mind of its own. I saw the interview. It was (IMHO) so extremely self serving as to be transparent. What Manny does is to keep using inflammatory words like Fraud, stealing from investors, This stock has No value, etc. and make himself sound like a Ralph Naider of the stock market and no personal agenda. He is a very smart guy in that he knows the value of *continuiously* putting out news releases with inflammatory headlines attacking the target company. It would be fair to say he is as relentless as a junk yard dog. Be that as it may, the anchor on ccnfm said to him "Well, you are a short seller to the tune of about 300K shares, don't you stand to profit from these shares going down", to which Manny quickly changed the subject saying (predictably) "We are just trying to protect the publics interest from fraud" I had to laugh because it appeared to me that Manny had a really hard time keeping a straight face on that one. The cnnfm anchor said, "You have made some pretty strong charges against Dreyfus and Mr. Schoenberg", to which Manny again went off using the usual inflammatory words, something like "Dreyfus not protecting investors, failed to supervise, self dealing, front running (like he hasn't??) etc." Manny then went on to say that he would be releasing another new report tomorrow? specifically addressing the Dreyfus and Schoenberg issues, AND that he will be holding another conference call, I think he said on Friday. Personally I have to laugh, his so called conference calls are pretty much a one sided advertisement for his firm and more important, supportive of his own investment position. Manny is a very smart guy and in the past has uncovered a number of entirely real frauds and destroyed them and profited very handsomely from his work. You might want to go to his web site and check out his pattern of relentlessly issuing press releases to support his position. I might be wrong, (and I am long the stock) but I think that this time he has made some big and fundamental errors. He better be right about Dreyfus. He better be right about Mike Schoenberg (who I have known personally for 7 years from various institutional research dealings and is a very very nice man) because if I were Mike Schoenberg I would let the dust settle and then begin a huge lawsuit against Manny for libel, because can there be any doubt that Manny has damaged Schoenberg. In regard to Dreyfus, he better be right because those are some very serious accusations against a major institution. When I was in the army I had a drill sergeant who's nickname was BULL, and he used to say "F*** with The BULL and YOU *will* get the Horn" I could be wrong, but I think that Manny is F***ing with The Bull and he *will* get the horn. To me, I think his endeavor is really quite self serving and he has already personally made a huge amount of money. Hey, I could be wrong, and have been many many times, but to me, this just does not add up right. Perhaps anyone with any questions should speak with Manny personally and discuss his side of the story. I am told his direct private line is 212 702-8800. Regards and good luck to all Pete Don't bother with flames, this was not intended to (and I don't think it does) present ONLY one side, and I will not read them so fugetaboudit.
