Bill and MSFT have never shown any reluctance to jump on whatever bus was moving. MSFT arrogance does not extend to any particular attachment to current MSFT products or even anything they said last week. If JAVA ever takes off you can bet that MSFT will be there with a JAVA version of everything that has any market potential.

On mainframe JAVA - I guess you don't know much about mainframes. That is really funny, ROLFMAO!!

Word on the street here in Redmond is that Microsoft has vowed, no Java support. If they can't corrupt it, they are going to "let it wither". We'll see if it dies without Microsoft support.

Anyway, there is no way Microsoft could write Office in Java. They are simply not capable, nor motivated. Microsoft will write Office in Java if they can do it in a corrupted Java that pollutes the waters. In other words, unless they can directly access the Win32 API, Office will never appear in "java" form.
