Hi Odi,

Thanks for responding. When I saw the Alcatel modem the guy told me it was an 8 Mb unit. I noticed the standard phone connection port and I asked why there was a wire pulled out from the connector, standing free. The guy said the unit was not demonstrating at full speed, but if he pushed the wire up into the unit it would be.

This tipped me off that there was something wrong. Later I had it confirmed that the unit was having problems. Chip related at the higher speeds I heard.

So Odi, is the unit next to you an 8Mb unit?

By the way, how did you get this information?
To date, there are in excess of 6,000 units already deployed...

Eric
