>>>You know that we differ in trading strategies (I am mainly long and you are mainly short). <<<

I hate to tell you this larry, but my portfolio is just about 90% long (by position size, i.e every $9000 long is matched by $1000 short. Some call that 80% long). You probably get the impression I'm mainly short because I almost never talk about my long positions. This is because I'm not adding any longs (haven't been for around 9 months), and the longs I do have are not trading vehicles, but those long term, hold them forever and cheat Uncle Sam out of his money when you die and your heirs get the shares at a stepped up tax basis type. I mainly started shorting as a hedge against what I think is an inevitable overall market decline. I think I've proven (at least to myself) that I'm pretty good at it. I'll try not to confuse brains with a bull market though. Someday we'll see if I can do as well in a bear market.
