Bruce, why would you want to buy put toward the end of a decline? When the stock was above 20' and I mused the opinion that 17 is a show in and 13 a very strong possibility, with possibly a spike to 10 (which we might still get), then you should have bought those puts. As a matter of fact, at the time (sometime last November) I even indicated that the end of this down move in WFR has a good chance occurring in June (one of my better calls, since at the same time, I also said that February will be a strongly down month for the market in general and my turnips failed me on this one miserably).

I do not think that buying puts in WFR at these prices is a "safe" strategy. Not even an even gamble or bet.
