hollywood mid meet numbers

from our friends at the Daily Racing Form:

for the first 34 dates of the meet:

ontrack handle up 8% to 2,318,345/day
ontrack att. down 5.3% to 10,678/day
instate simulcasting up 1.6%
interstate simulcasting up 30.3%

total handle up 8.8% to 10,603,391

hollywood is very pleased with the numbers, blame the decrease in attendance partly on the missed racing day
due to track conditions and from personal knowledge El Nino certainly did not help. the track said that 7 out of
the last 9 days saw an increase prior to the Belmont. two more very big days will help build on these
numbers...this sunday pick 6 pool of a cool 1 million and the Gold Cup featuring Skip Away, Gentlemen,
Deputy Commander and Anet on 6/28. my rough calculations on the revenues HPK gets from ontrack wagers
(6%) and offtrack (3-6%) tell me that on a pretax basis the track itself is about .04/share ahead of last year. if
this holds out through 6/30, watch out for a quarter between .34 and .38. much better than the forecasted .31.

the engines are starting to heat up.............

DD,

Are you trying to make the correlation between JAKK and ACTN 2 years ago. Both around 10. ACTN at a PE of 33. JAKK is looking better all the time. I originally thought that there would be a buying opportunity with their next quarters release because it is not going to be spectacular. Not sure now. They do not have many analysts , yet...
