AMZN:

Any one following it? It is defying all my logic. I am short from $40 and am trying to decide wether I should average up or save my margin for a further run.

Thoughts?

Well I found the post I was looking for. Also in searching I reread many that talked about Datek's role in the shorting of KTEL, with many allegations of Datek allowing basically unlimited shorting (which makes sense since it seems Datel allows you to short anything ("cept ENMD), but shortly after this post came out, Datek stopped allowing KTEL to be shorted.

This is one more interesting post from Yahoo thread about KTEL shorts and DATEK. I hope today's KTEL stock movement has nothing to do with this compliant, or is there?

On Shorting With DATEK

I called Datek today to complain about the manipulation of Ktel's share price: detailing specific trades that indicated a
succesful effort to staunch the fall of Ktels share price. I spoke with a Mike Gabriel in the trading department who was polite, but
nervous. He told me that DATEK is not a Market Maker, and thus could not be involved in share price manipulation, which he did not
dispute. However I explained that the Ktel threads made it clear that DATEK was the principal broker that supplied shorts, and that
the price was being manipulated to allow succesive waves of DATEK clients to be squeezed three days following each major price
drop.
The DATEK representive became extremely nervous and made strange, choked, throat clearing noises.I asked him if anyone
associated with DATEK was taking significant short positions in Ktel, in order to take advantage of the unique information that their
brokerage obtained from their clients orders. The odd thing was that he in no way denied that this was going on, but simply asserted
that the trades of DATEK employees are not public information. I asked him to let his superiors know that the manipulation, and
DATEKs dominant position as a short broker were being widely discussed on the net, and that the companies name was going to suffer
if it made money at the expense of its clients.

It was a very odd and disturbing conversation.

I thought some of you might be interested
