More upbeat predictions for upcoming GeoCities IPO:

cbs.marketwatch.com

Here is some text from that story:

Online community pioneer GeoCities filed to raise as much as $72.5 million in an upcoming IPO from lead underwriter Goldman Sachs. The company had 1.9 million members at the end of May, according to its prospectus. CMG Information Services (CMGI), which owns about a third of GeoCities, fell 1.0 percent on the news.

"I think this will be a highly-anticipated deal, and we should see a similar reception to the one Inktomi (INKT) received," said Jacob, whose fund's biggest holding is CMG. "It's the last top ten traffic Web site that's not public. And the growth in its traffic has really been the most impressive out of the group."

Here's how Ryan Jacob is identified earlier in that story:

Ryan Jacob, research director of IPO Value Monitor, said NetGravity isn't viewed as highly as competitor DoubleClick (DCLK), which has more than doubled since going public at $17 earlier this year. "Best of breed will still command significant premiums in the aftermarket," said Jacob, who also runs The Internet Fund.

...and here we are right before the close and CMGI is up 2 13/16 and looking strong, very strong!!!
