re: "lowered the 1999 estimate to $1.00 a share from $1.85" Does anyone know who still has a "strong buy" on AMAT? Who is in the running to win the "Last Of The Blind Lemmings" award? At this point, sitting at the 52-week low, downward revisions are comical. The most interesting thing was that we are beginning to see severe EPS estimate cuts for 1999, from the analyst herd. This has started just in the last month. And, now that we're half-way through 1998, and everyone agrees it'll be a wash, the stock will trade based on 1999 expectations.
