There was an interesting conflict with Wallace, when Wallace declared that the human brain could not have evolved, and so must have been created by God. Ref. Claiming Darwin to be the root cause of the holocaust (and human eugenesis) is about as reasonable as claiming Jesus to be the root cause of the Spanish Inquisition. Was it a Leaky who discovered Lucy? It's like a gigantic puzzle and we are slowly finding more of the pieces. Anthropology is a great demonstration of science as self-correcting: theories seem to quickly change with each new piece of data. An exciting field, eh! Greg
