Doug:

And, anyone else who cares to reply. If you could choose only one driller, which one would it be?

Douglas V. Fant; are dayrates the same for natural gas vs. crude drilling since the Rigs are basically the same ?

The reason for my question is that some of the land drillers that have been dramatically sold down, have switched over to natural gas drilling and do not have as bad of Rig utilization as the stock prices indicate. I see a strong buying opportunity at these depressed prices for the natural gas oriented land drillers. One may have to wait longer for the valuations to return for the land drillers, but the return will be the highest in the oil sector. Hard to imagine too many people willing to step up to the pump to buy land drillers right now -- however, I see no better play right now for the patient. UTI is especially strong in natural gas and PTEN has just had 1999 earnings estimates of $1.10 reiterated by Jeffries & Co, on 6/11/98 which is a doubling of projected 1998 earnings #'s.
