All,

I have updated and posted the INTC June'98 options analysis. the Max-Pain point is $75. This either means that there is going to be some happy put owners, or there will be upside pressure from the options MMs and hedge funds this week to 'guide' the price up to the Max-Pain point. Who knows, maybe Kurlak will come out tomorrow morning and say 'the drop in INTCs price has been over done and I project a near-term price of $75...' stranger things have happened..

Interesting how Intel is using a very different, low-key, strategy to defend itself, compared to the screams of bloody murder coming out of Microsoft. I think Intel's approach is much more professional, classy, and more likely to work.

I think you are 100% wrong on this. The FTC is declaring war, not only on Intel, but on intellectual property rights in general. Quiet capitulation and compromise in response to this assault on the free market will only lead to further and harsher attacks in the future. Intel should take a lesson from Redmond and fight back forcefully and publically. And on principle. When Intel (and MSFT) defend the rights to their own property, they defend my rights and those of every other citizen and business as well. This is not the Soviet Union. Yet.

Agreed. I think Intel's approach will minimize any damage from the
FTC. The last thing you want to do when a cop pulls you over for
speeding is to get mouthy . . .
