Compaq is addressing some very real issues..... As there is a paradigm shift from higher price pc's to empty boxes and web TV, companies like compaq need to look elsewhere for revenue and profitability. We should be elated right now that Compaq has taken various measures to not only increase revenue and profitability but shareholder value. As the shift continues to evolve you will see major increases in the service revenue (DIGITAL) and more and more changes towards internet sales and services. Do not underestimate ALTA VISTA either..... this will fit into their plan as well. I think you will see strong sales, as well, with the Alpha Chip especially now since the Merced has been delayed.
